Description
I am not an expert on vintage Chinese Art. I researched the mark on the bottom and it appears to be a Qianlong Seal from China. If so it could be the quite old and valuable circa 1700-1800.The cat is a bit less then 9.25" long, app. 6" wide, and app. 4" in height, it weighs 2 pounds without packaging. There is light wear to to the paint and areas on the front legs where there is no paint. The front left paw is curled under just as a real cat would do.
The cat is divided into a land area with shows a (a birch?) tree with beautiful pink and light blue blossoms as well as embossed enamel in cranberry and and dark blue. Below this is a literal line that seperates this from a water scene below. The water hold gorgeous lotus plants (green & white) and lily pads again in pink and light blue. The bright salmon bow around the neck has a gilt gold bell on either side of it. The gold eyes are closed as the cat sleeps.
The bottom has a 2.5" thin raised bar in the center with the red seal to the side of it. There are two holes intentionally made, one near the head that is smaller than an inch, inside there is a piece of porcelain that has been broken off. The opposite hole under the tail is larger than the other and has a sliver of a chip missing on the rim. There is also what remains of a paper label. This cat looks very old to me, but I'm no expert, please ask questions. Take a look at my additional items as well!
