Vintage Budda Mudra Sandstone Hand Figure Sculpture. Condition is "Used".
Each Mudra (hand position) in Buddha images expresses a particular act such as adoration, teaching, protection or meditation. This hand sculpture made of sandstone from eastern Thailand is in Vitarka-mudra, the gesture of explanation and teaching; the tips of the thumb and pointer finger of the right hand are touching, with the rest of the fingers extended together. Some believe that practicing this Mudra during medication can impact a sense of peace and spirituality as well as, improve concentration and memory.
