Early Mid Century Atomette NT Jeweled Owl Black Enamel Brass Square Compact

Description

Very Good vintage condition for its age.  Fine surface scratches, gold finish wear, and light patina of brass base metal. Original frosted bezel mirror is intact and in excellent condition.  All stones on owl are similarly intact, in good to very good condition with some spots of gem adhesive yellowing.  Includes original puff that is signed ATOMETTE NY (which is funny, because Atomette was manufactured in England).  Compact features a practical component that we wish more compacts had:  a secure lid that separates the powder from the puff, to reduce mess, bacteria and mold/mildew.  In this case, the lid operates on a hinge, secured by a button that you must slide to the side to open.  The inner powder chamber looks really good, with little signs of age or wear, with original lining.  Signed ATOMETTE on the powder lid.
Quite a time capsule, but ready for future personal use should you choose to dust it out and add your own makeup.
