    Note: D-161 is my inventory # only.
    Here is a
    very old pair of used Brown & Sharpe 3" firm-joint outside calipers.
    They were made from tempered steel.  The legs measure 3" from the center of the pivot point out to the tip.  3" capacity. These older ones used a different screw (slotted head) in the pivot then the later model ones used.  The later part # was 821, I am not sure if these shared the same part # in this smaller 3" size.
    Good working old pair of small calipers with staining spots on them from age and being cleaned off some with a scotchbrite pad.
    Perfect size for the hobbyist or home shop, toolmaker, gunsmith, etc.
